hi all Z'ers,
Does an E89 front bumper have the same specs as a E85 front bumper? it looks very similar... wondering about a facelift to my 2005 body and what i might need... im sure i saw on the forum someone did this before....

You may want to search the threads or ask/PM cj10jeeper to see if he can remember, as it was briefly discussed here...

...although I'm not sure where you'd find the mentioned 'detailed write up'.

Good luck!

thanks guys. Looked through the past threads ad found one that said its a direct swap... so i spose there we go.... just got that feeling i'l be sitting on my drive with 2 bumpers (neither on my car) and scratching my head.... know what i mean...?

:headbang: It's been a long day  Cheers navid; and sorry to waste your time marksdesigns. Out of interest, why would you want to swap an E89 front bumper onto the front of an E85? Would look a bit weird wouldn't it? :-o

no time has been wasted, dont worry mate! :D
ive a 2005 2.5 with bulging round front bumper and was thinking at the weekend after fitting new bulbs that i would like to change it to the M version, but then wondered if the newer versions would fit also.... 1 or 2 on fleabay that sa E89, although now i looked it up they are prob just facelift eh?

Ah, I see. Yeah, def worth a thought but I very much doubt they fit, as I'd imagine they're fundamentally different. You could go facelift as you say, or look at an Aero kit? Check out MStyle, amongst others....http://www.mstyle.co.uk/acatalog/BMW_Z_Z4_Z4M_front_bumpers_splitters.html

Check out this thread too...http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21347&p=309783&hilit=Aero+kit#p309783
Quite a cheap option by the looks of things.

hmmm... thanks inkey - not sure now. aero bumper is ok i spose... maybe i wait for an //M bumper to turn up.
