Face lift possibilities....

Hello people who know far more than me,

Does anyone know how difficult/if it's possible to update the e85 bodywork to the newer e89??
Particularly the front end.

Any input is greatly appreciated and will affect the purchase of my newest project.

Thanks again.

Do you mean E85 pre-facelift (2003 - 2005) to E85 facelift (2006 - 2008)? The E89 is the new Z4 with the folding metal roof and completely different body.

Welcome btw :)

Two completely different cars so I'm guessing impossible/horrendously expensive IMO

We have a saying here in Scotland...

Away and don't be fucking daft!

That saying may or may not be relevant although since it's your first post, welcome to the Forum.

 Don't mince your words Steve, tell us what you really think....

That one on the ebay link looks awful. That can't be fitted with 'proper' E89 panels, surely? They look a bit 'aftermarket' - probably fibreglass - I haven't read the ad / spec though.

OP, to back up what has been said already, the E85/E86 is the first generation of Z4, the E89 is the second generation - they are completely different models of car. If you want an E89, buy an E89 - if you want a project to do something 'different' by grafting on E89 panels onto an E85/86, by all means go for it but I can't imagine it'll be easy.

back on topic, the simple answer is no

oh and hello and welcome, as you can tell from the other posts, this is a good place to visit with helpful and polite members (well most of them) :D

It's a GT3 replica kit

Anything is possible with deep enough pockets.

If you want an E89 then buy one. If you want an E85 to facelift this is possible.

Just my personal opinion, but the E85 is the best looking Z4 anyway! :P

I think it's lost a bit of character over the years, but don't doubt the E89 is much improved under the skin.
