Hi everone as I am new to convertables do I need to do any maintance on the hood to keep it in tip top condition is this cold winter weather . Looking forward to your comments cheers

Get some protection on the roof i used the AG kit from Halfords very easy to use BMW kit is supposed to be OK or Ragtop and Renovo which is one i will be trying next

When you wash the car just a good rinse with the hose i do not use any bodywork shampoo on the hood

I'd be interested to know how you get on with Renovo if you don't mind. I used the AG this summer and it's ok, but not perfect.

Cheers.

I tried contacting Renovo direct as they are based a few miles from where I worked, but got no response, dont think I have come across anybody on here that has used it.

I use RaggTopp, and just used the BMW stuff is it was to cold to use an aerosol.

I would say that if you havent got a garage or cannot get the car out of the wind then probably best not to use RaggTopp otherwise it will go everywhere apart from the car being an aerosol.

BMW is mixed with water and applied with a sponge, so very easy to do, but dont know which one offers best protection.

HI, with many years of convertibles, i am a great fan of RENOVO, last upto 6 months very easy to apply, have tried most of the makes out there, could'nt get on with AG ( the spray bottles i found always leak and drip onto paintwork really messy) Ragtop is good, but being an aerosol you need a very calm day to ensure it stays onthe roof, hope this helps ,DAVID

Sticks i will post up how i get on

when i use the Renovo in the spring

Agree about the AG kit first time i used it it gave very good beading but found the spray bottles stopped working and its a pig to get off the glass.

Second time i used it same probs with the spray trigger and is not beading as well but still passes the pint of water test just pour it on and it beads up and runs off the roof completely
