Well it's been a long wait, Cindy's been on tenterhooks so I'm glad it was only a week instead of several months, but we picked up the new X3 this morning.

First impressions reinforce the test drive, solid, quiet and nice to drive - I can see why they're popular and the waiting lists are so long

Waiting lists are long as they're made in USA. Nice ca though - I nearly went for one recently, but ended up with a 330D instead.

… and on the way back you can drop in to compare it to the big brother in CB :D

I've still got the 118 to run about in, the X3 is Cindy's, I'm really only allowed near it to keep it clean at the moment - I'm sure, given a bit of time, she'll relax her grip

Interior is a nice place to be

Leather, heated seats, business nav, climate control, F&R PDC are all standard with the M Sport spec

Since I've had aircon in cars, I've never been interested in sunroofs but this one is amazing - it makes the interior or the car so light & bright

Really nice Perry and a great colour too.
Cheers OG - we love the colour and it's probably the one we'd have chosen given a free choice but, had we been speccing it ourselves, I'd have added a bit more kit (Xenons, pro nav, comfort access, electric folding mirrors, tinted windows etc. etc.) so getting it the way we did did has saved me about £5k in options... but I'm sure the Man Maths will kick-in and I'll spend it elsewhere...

Surely that £5k is now fair-game for man toys? Anything else would be unjust!
Stop it :poke: we were originally going to get her an X1 so spent more than that notional £5k on going for the X3 instead...

...Although I am talking to Andy about the possibility of some winter wheels for the X3....

Looking great, and yes - lovely colour but I would say that :D

My brand new set of winter wheels cost me about £300 - £400 in the end, as I bought new SE wheels from someone who bought M sport wheels, sold the new tyres that were on it, and bought winters so the cost of change was next to nothing.

Just be careful with the roof, mine never caused me an issue but the number of cassette units that either are not straight or failing is rather high.

Yes, they are 18 and they are, uh, "special" :D

But for winters, to keep the plain ones clean is soooo easy :D
