Pretty shocking if you ask me. Will be checking the seat base on the Zed as they may use the same parts/supplier.

Don't know what it is with BMW at the moment but their quality leaves alot to be desired :cry:

Shocking, hopefully wont affect the zed, but may...BMW cost cutting.similar to what mercedes did and suffered from :thumbsdown:

So both replacement cars I'm considering have their own problems.

BMW cannot make a car without problems it seems.

That looks like maybe they had a batch that weren't painted/treated properly. A bit poor that they got through QC though.
 
I was going order the 1 Series but changed for the Zed instead, mind you thats go to go into the dealer soon when I'm off me hols :x

Doubt if it's only BMW that has issues like this with their latest models. I think Audi, BMW and Mercedes are just going over the top with all those new models in such a short time :erm: But maybe that's just me :roll:
 
I think most BMW seats are made by outsourced manufacturers. BMW clearly does not have strict quality control and inspection on supplied parts/components.
 
Every OEM seat is outsourced most of the seat frames are now common Audi, Merc and LandRover all have the same front seat frame on most of the new cars. It looks like they have deleted the coating as that's raw pressed steel and all you are seeing is surface rust. It's all down to cost these days :(

when i seen it was HK etc i though might just of been the humidy then seen some other UK members posting!

i'm about to order a F20 this weekend for my girlfriend will ask the dealer about it
