F1 is getting ridiculous. Haha. How can they even be considering this, let alone fitting it to test. Doesn't seem to have done much anyway. I find it amazing that with all the engineering excellence f1 boasts - somebody designed this, stood back and said "there ya go, fit that mooate"

Pretty much sums up Mercedes f1 design flair really....they'd be nowhere without their power train department

All joking aside...pretty rubbish really...I was expecting something more than a cone on the end....some Venturi tunnels in the exhaust or something which makes no sense to me....

Not sure what's next plan really??
Maybe give redbull a shot....I'll use recycled redbull cans and see what noises I can make :|

I reckon you could be on to something there to be honest! At least you'd get some rasp though them. But yes, you just really would have thought something a little more technical would have been tried. I actually thought it was a joke at first ...

At least they have a sense of humour I guess.

Let's assume they will stay with 1.6 turbos...the only logical step is either they find a way of making them rev to 16000rpm while using less than 100kg fuel per race....or they change the ruling on the fuel usage until technology allows it? It's too big a tech leap too quickly in order to keep it interesting

I wonder if they will drop the fuel restrictions , or at least raise the limits. Which would encourage more speed, higher average revs per race and test reliability. Just seems to have lost its way doesn't it

For more revs they need to either increase fuel limits....or somehow make the engines so reliable that at 12-15k rpm they're capable of using less then 100kilos a race...
I'm just not sure the fia would change the fuel rules after all this.....

Arguably this is true of any F1 team - what's happened to Red Bull's, do they have the year off ? :poke: :P

Its is true about Mercedes but where would Red bull be without there aero? This cone designe seems pants and not thorght out.

I think the cars are great this year i like the noise them make. I also like being able to hear the tyres working. And the fact the cars look handful to control is great for me i like seeing the drivers struggle. Hopfully the other teams will catch up and make it a bit of a closer field. I didn't like it when it was Sebastian leading from the start. At least Nico gives Lewis a race.

Unfortunately, as the season has started, they're limited in what can be done - anything major would require the unanimous agreement of all teams (unlikely to happen).
