F1 Bans Radio Assistance

Excellent news, but I think they should go further and ban all pit-> car transmissions... car-> pit is OK as it allows performance data to be collected and, for example, the driver to request a couple of extra turns on the front wing at the next pit stop.

It'd make the race more interesting if the driver doesn't know that the car behind is catching them at x seconds per lap, that driver y having tyre issues or that rain is expected in 3 laps time....
 
Great if it works, just not sure how enforceable it is

pit car transmissions have always been there even in crude form of the pit board. the teams will just figure out a different way to communicate. flashing lights/morse code/guy in the stands with a torch/airplane banners... whatever or they will just start to do stuff directly to the car without the drivers knowledge like limiting rev etc. seems a bit of a smoke and mirrors rule whats happening?

if they want no communication they should stick the cars out on track with enough fuel and tires to do full distance and let the drivers get on with it
