Yes they will physically fit, well you will still need a post face lift bumper as well.
check out this thread

Alternatively software like ISTA P has a retrofit option for these to re-program the light module to post face lift spec on pre face lift cars

Will these fit pre facelift?? whats involved to fit if so??

I would rephrase the above as - No they won't fit directly.

You need a new bumper and also have to code them to work properly, but it is possible.

Just to avoid ambiguity :)

Having just spent weeks sourcing a set for myself, know these are hard to get a hold of second hand. Was quoted £317 for one from BMW. also quoted £75+vat+£15 postage for one from a breaker. So good buy for someone.

OK having re-read the linked thread above again (first looked at it 18 months ago) this is a fair point.

So just to clarify, the light units themselves will physically fit (as in bolt on) when used with a post facelift rear bumper, However although the wiring plugs physically fit the wiring itself is not plug and play. All the info you need to do the wiring is contained in the thread I linked to above. You can get them to work without any coding (but you will have bulb warnings) and I guess its a case of do you want them to work to an acceptable legal/standard or do you want them to work as the factory intended. Personally I would want them to get them to work properly as the factory intended. To do this you will need to make some coding changes/turn off some bulb checks using something along the lines of Carly, NCS Expert or ISTA P. But using these programs you can get them to work properly without having to change the LCM unit. Hope this clears this up for any potential buyer.

I have also been asked in a PM why I am selling. OK I bought them on a bit of whim ages ago via Ebay. However not long after this I landed a set of the quad clear spot pre face lift rear lights which are my favourite E85/6 rear light which I use minus the french fries. My car looks similar to this one at the back (minus the quad exhaust) and not as shiney!

I had hung on to them for ages "just in case" I changed my mind, as I haven't its finally time for these to go!

I do like the clear spots :) and it's easy to get red LED bulbs to get the fog the right colour, think you made the right choice.

If anyone buys these and wants assistance with coding I have the tools to do it, though there would be some trial and error in finding all the settings.

GLWTS

I agree that these are well priced. Don't come up often and I was slightly impatient so I paid just under the £200 mark for mine!

GLWTS!

Ok guys thanks for the input, Ive done a bit regarding LCI headlights with my other car e61 m sport, to which I have fitted LCI halogen headlights to it, involved re-soldering the newer style connectors onto car loom, then installing a HID kit for the dipped beam ( only reason i wanted to do the mod ).

Will have a think if I can be bothered with sourcing a new rear bumper etc, if it had just been a case of re-wire then code out bulb warnings via carly, I would have bought them.

Well I'm a bit shocked these haven't gone yet at this price. Think I will leave them on here for a few more days then they're either going back into storage or Ebay at a higher price to cover fees etc.
