Looking for a Z4MR and have just seen one advertised on ebay.Very low mileage and the price seems too good to be true.Comparable ones with this mileage are going for £13.5k ish.

Just emailed the seller and he said it has had 5 owners from new so if I went for it I would be the 6th owner in less than 30k miles!!

Just wondered what you forum experts reckon?....not sure myself due to the number of previous owners, too good to be true asking price and its a private seller so no comeback.

Any advice is welcome...thanks.

Hi and welcome Spartacus :)

It looks a very nice clean car for the money. Mileage is low, and the number of owners wouldn't put me off as people buy these cars and for whatever reason realise it is not the one for them and sell them on. For me it is how the car has been looked after. I would check to make sure it has been serviced within recommended service timescales and everything is as you would expect for the age and mileage. I would go and have a look and test drive if I was you and judge for yourself.

i would check the service history as they are a bit vauge to say the least and remember that important 1200 mile service with out which its apparently usless

Dont forget if it appears to be too good to be true there is usually a good reason :|

Bloody hell, that is cheap. even I could afford that :o

As said - service history is most important, and of course condition. as long as all those owners have looked after it properly then to be honest it could be a very, very good deal.

Thanks for the replies above....I asked if he had any objections to an independant inspection and he said that any inspection is fine.It just seems strange to me why you would advertise a car for such a low price compared to what else is, and has been, advertised recently.

Cat D or so?

Thought it might have been for the money being asked. Mind you the seller is getting a new Z4 so wonder if the asking price is more than what the dealer was offering him as a trade in and he has decided to sell it as a price to go quickly but still give he a few extra in his back pocket. I think further questions need to be asked of the seller

welcome
,my preference when car hunting is 1or 2 owner vehicles , ,like to see lots of receipts so i buy private ( cause i like to see the whites of the eyes :) ) & condition over history .
the history is the cherry on the cake which i do study & would leave any car that had missed vital service requirements but i don,t weigh heavy on main dealer stamps
hope that helps & feel free to link any other possibles or ask any questions however insignificant they may seem

There are bargains out there and summer (what summer? - ed) is coming to an end. If the history and an HPI check out, you have a nice car right there!

Front bumper looks a different colour as does the passengers side front wing to windscreen pillar and passenger door?

keyed sometime?

I think it is just a trick of the light causing a shadow, I might be wrong but front bumper and wing appears to look ok to me in picture 5 compared to picture 1. The only real way is a visit to check it close up.

Hey... why not ask the guy why he advertised it at that price... as when the RAV4's first came out in the 90's, second hand ones were BIG money.

Found a 3 year old one for 4k under what most others were advertised for... asked the question & was told was trading in for a Landrover Freelander & was pissed off at the trade in price, so decided to let someone else have it instead... all checked out with original supplying Toyota dealer, happy days

so moral is just ask him... why
