extras on a new z4

glad to see you went with the auto. IMHO the lack of hill assist alone is enough to warrant the auto.
how much was the comfort pack? as i believe what you get to be worth it
not sure about heated wheel. can honestly say i have never thought about missing that as an option. unlike the heated seats which i use a lot! i have had them before on other makes and TBH on those experiences would not have payed for them because all they did was heat your backside. but the BMW ones do the backrest and even the pull out bit on the sports seat! lovely :)
i am not a fan of the 'silver' dash. cant remember what its called but there is an option to have it in black leather which is worth it?
extended lighting is very nice, but:
auto dipping mirrors are a MUST
PDC a MUST
cruise control again is a MUST ( I bought second-hand and it was top of my extras list which reduced my choices a lot) it really should be standard!!!!

And i am sorry to upset you but another MUST is the wind deflector
why? because I have literally just come back from a quick blast of only a mile down the road for the FIRST time since owning the car with the roof down. Wife was with me and the outward journey without the wind deflector was literally unbearable!! so much so that it was commented that IF the deflector didn't make a huge difference on the way back we would be selling the car! And NO I am not exaggerating at all! we have come from an EOS and a Boxster with deflectors and both were a joy with the roof down and this was the opposite.
Thankfully the return trip was a completely different experience thank goodness :)
I think it is quite expensive to retrofit so you really need to take this into account now.

also M Sport suspension deletion is a good call  , even the press say it ruins the ride while adds nothing to the handling.
I have 19ins and wish i didn't. 18ins are enough especially with the dreaded RFT's which i cant wait to ditch.
my offer still stands of a free swap with anyone with 18ins

Thanks for all the info, I forgot to mention that I have included a wind deflector, after three different converts i know how important they are.
My trade in is a 330d convert with prety much every extra on it, I will miss some of them but where do you stop? to add auto dimming mirrors and memory seats it's another £1800!

cheers

Sorry to bang on but I reckon you have already spent about a grand on just three extras?
Wouldn't it be better to get the comfort pack which includes two of them and also gain cruise, lighting, storage and dimming mirrors etc. plus it will be worth more when you sell all for an extra 300-400 quid?

Package contains the following options:
– 544 Cruise control with brake function
– 563 Extended lighting
– 430 Interior and exterior mirrors, folding, auto-dimming
– 508 Park Distance Control (PDC), front and rear
– 493 Storage compartment package
– 387 Wind deflector

Agreed - the stock dash trim on the non M-Sport is not nice and there is more of the silver than the other options (at least there used to be). I don't think the extended leather makes this any better. Brushed aluminium is my favourite, it looks really nice.

You can see the impact of making these changes in the configurator but it seems to be down at the moment

My advice is simple , get every extra you can afford. Heated sports seats is a must. The M sport adaptive suspension in my view is also a must but go for the 18" wheels, if you are on a rough bit of road just put it in comfort mode and it's fine other than that, sport mode with that set up is fantastic. My last zed had the standard suspension and trust me test drive both and once you drive the M sport adaptive suspension you will not regret it. The advice re the upgraded sound system is also worth taking but whatever you decide is your priority you will definately enjoy driving it it come the summer.
