Exterior folding mirrors

I notice that the left exterior mirror folds more inwards than right mirror (15mm difference). Does anyone know about it?
 
Seriously? :? I have the power folding mirrors and have never noticed this. Pretty sure they fold in/out at the same rate as well.
 
I have just checked them again. Even when both mirrors are not folded, right mirror (driver side) is more outward.
 
Angle of vision (for blind spot) or seating position, but to be honest i wisnae that anal to measure them or notice :poke: :poke:

The mirror housing (not the mirror itself). I have just returned from local dealer (3 miles away) after checking other BMW models. All have their driver side mirror more outward. I know my OCD is getting more serious. :headbang:

My 10-year-old VW Polo has a smaller near-side mirror compared to the driver side. There must be a reason why car manufacturers make near-side mirror smaller and closed to the car. Does anyone know the answer?
