I used Triplewax tyre shine.(No silicone).

Paint it on with a brush, don't use the spray, spray into lid then paint on. Then let it dry, then wipe over and buff.
Then i just finish off with some furniture polish.
Comes out lovely and black.
Did so couple of years ago and not needed to reapply since.
Don't let it touch plastic though, makes it go rubbery, only apply to black rubber. It seems to suck the oils back to the surface.
Never found anything good for the plastic under wipers though. Just needs regular cleaning.
Tried the gummy stuff on rubber, twas rubbish, not impressed and expensive..
