For the 6 cylinders it's £250 excess and BMW assist for £35 a month if continuing on from a warranty you already have or if you don't want the roadside cover its £28 a month. Plus if you pay monthly they price does not change where as buying yearly the premium could increase year on year.
Excess can be changed to nil or £100. I think your looking at £43 for £100 excess and bmw assist but near enough £60 for nil excess. I suppose it depends on how much you want to shell out and ideally it's Peace of mind that you don't really intend to use.
unfortunately until the 1st 2.0l variant gets a quote we won't know, but I wouldn't expect it to exceed the figures quoted. Clearly things might change and as an insured warranty they can change their quotes over time. Just be glad it's not a diesel as it's over a grand a year on most 
Hmmm not sure why you would want to pay for a monthly warranty as it does sound expensive but then if it is your daily driver it might make sense but with ours being a weekend car there is no way I would pay for a BMW warranty I would just get breakdown recovery on it and these cars are pretty reliable! Well I hope they are

Each to their own but considering how much it would cost to fix the roof if it stopped working or if you have thre DTC the price to sort this if it fails again would be considerable so that's another factor. I'm sure someone here had an issue recently and the bill would have been in excess of £2500 but the warranty covered it.
My E88 developed and hole in the roof due to a design issue. A recall was done in other parts of the world but not the UK and Europe. I didn't have a warranty and was quoted £2k for a new roof, luckily BMW offered to pay the majority of the costs and I had to pay £180 towards it. If they had said no I'd of wished I had the warranty. At the time my car was just over 3 years old with 14k on the clock and as the guys at the garage said it looked new but I never thought for a second I'd need any sort of cover, especially when I'd had no issues up until that point.
I've done 2760 miles since I got the car in January 2014 (and that's more than it should have done) and I'd still have a warranty because of the roof and gearbox.

I pay 39.99 with 100 X's and breakdown. Just had new boot gas struts, a parking sensor and a roof micro switch all for £100. Am not sure what the cost would have been without warranty.

£450.00 Fully Comp (£250 Excess) with full European recovery. It was £550.00 last year due to being a new policy but dropped by £100.00 this year due to renewal. You are only able to renew below 100,000miles on the annual policy.
Angie4M: Not sure where you got the £250.00 Excess for 6 cylinders from? I have/had a choice of £50, £100 & £250...
I think the recovery element was about £90.00 of the £450 but figured it would be much easier to get it into a dealer via BMW Assist. I suspect the Stealer would otherwise charge for investigational work, which seems to be their default for any claim now.
Rather than guess, you can get an online quote, but I think it only works for vehicles that are not already under warranty: https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/login/index

Maybe read all the post and not skim! I get those figures from what I am paying and the quotes that I have which I saved when deciding which option to choose at the end of January this year. So very recently and I was renewing from a car that already had a BMW warranty. Yes there are other options but it's nil, £100 and £250. There is no £50 excess option. When getting a quote it usually defaults to £250 excess and then lets you change it downwards. I can only assume that £250 is the most popular choice, that and its also the cheapest. With regards to the 100,000 miles BMW do not cover cars over 100,000 miles on both the monthly and yearly policies and they reduce the items covered over 60k an this has been this way for a long time.
You can choose to have no warranty and to just take he assistance, not sure why you would do that and it's £150
The issue with finding a similar car is that if he number hasn't been registered with BMW I.e first registered with a private plate then it won't quote. Also they give a differnt quote for cars which have let a warranty lapse.

I've opted for the £441 with £250 excess, comprehensive with Breakdown Cover. Another well known Warranty provider has recently quoted me about £700 per yer more, I nearly bought that at the weekend, what a stroke of luck I didn't.

The only down side I have found with this is getting the dealership to actually look at a potential problem, as diagnosis is excluded. So far for me, it has resulted in a £50.00 bill for 2 minutes worth of labour, only to be told there is nothing wrong.
Angie4M; The website seems to suggest that you can get Driveline cover beyond 100k miles, not sure of the cost or how good it is though.
