Guys,

Car went into Sytner Sunningdale yesterday for some warranty items

-Sat Nav locking up/getting confused
-Roof slamming down
-Wiper arm squeeling on every turn
-Water visablly pooling around where the roof motors are

Also asked them to inspect a possible puncture

The result

-CCC unit in Nav faulty and will need to be replaced under warranty - needs to be booked back in for this. (i did some research and CCC unit is only for new shape from what i read - anyhow, something is not right and something will get replaced - so thats good!)

-Roof issue - they said some rubbers were worn/failing - but they were still seeking approval from Mondial assistance (who do the BMW extended warranty)

-Wiper arm replaced under warranty

-They drained the water from those areas as the drain pipes were blocked (known issue)

-They fixed the puncture for free - which was a leaking value in the end :)

They also gave the car a FULL VALET which i think included a polish as the car was gleaming!
The reason for the full valet was due to bad service when my had had its INSP1 done a few month prior
I got in the car after getting the keys back on that occasion and not only had the car been half washed, but the panel which you remove to replace the micrfilter was left hanging and there were a ton of leaves under my mat - which blatently came from the microfilter - but they never hoovered!

Oh well - there you have it, thought id update so you guys see what you can get done under extended warranty!

Hopefully my nav issues will go away and may be useful if anyone else has future similar issues on an 06 car!

Cheers
Jamie

On my X5, they replaced the nav computer under warranty as well. Was a bit concerned as they stated they needed to program the iDrive as well.

Note this is the E53 model which does not have an iDrive system ....

Good work Jamie, keep up the pressure on the rubber seals which aren't covered.

Had my wiper arm replaced also due to squeak, after they had already replaced the motor and linkage which didn't fix the problem. All under warranty though so no big deal.

Just had all four wheels replaced again under "good will" even bigger bonus :D

SO - Both items approved :)

Car is back in with them today to get both of them done and an MOT oh and im also trying for a broken door handle trim - since a clip broke for no reason!

Wiper arm seams to be a common issue. Glad our cars dont have many "common" issues, and that they are common :)

Lets see what they try and get me to fork out for on the MOT :)
