Extended Storage - 12V Lighter Socket

My 2009 E89 has extended storage but does not have a 12V lighter socket in the footwell (panel under the glovebox) there is just a hole there where the socket should be. Does anyone know if cars with extended storage have a socket there?

I didn’t even know that there was a socket there, I’ve got extended storage so will look tomorrow if I remember.

I don't have extended, but fitted a socket there, thought it might come in useful.

If you have extended storage and also don't have the socket in the footwell then I think this must mean it didn't come part of the package. In the manual it lists the ashtray centre armrest and the footwell, with the footwell and ashtray marked with an asterisk which normally means it's optional. I wonder if the footwell socket was perhaps a stand alone option?

Anyway it's looks like I'll have to do what Flybobbie's done and fit one in the footwell since I am thinking of getting rid of the ashtray and put the cubby box there to give more storage. While I am in the footwell panel I may as well put some footwell lights there too!
