Extended Lighting Question

Hi,

Planning to retrofit my extended lighting very soon (parts now arrived).

Can anyone who already has extended lighting confirm the following details please (it will help in testing).

1. Does the lighting only work if the headlamp setting is set to 'automatic' (i.e. a bit like the fact that the headlight halos automatically illuminate when you unlock the car when this is set?
2. Does the door handle lighting only work in the dark (does is work in daylight, but you normally wouldn't notice?)

Thanks in advance,

Chris.

Auto headlights on only works if the lighting control is set all the way to the left (auto position). Any other setting and they work as normal in manual mode. I think the door handle lighting is on all the time. I'll have to check that one. Not in the car today.

I think it depends on the car setting.
2. Does the door handle lighting only work in the dark (does is work in daylight, but you normally wouldn't notice?)
No. It works when you unlock and open the door.

I haven't looked in daylight, but it seems to go in sync with interior lights at dark.

Lol! Yes, pretty much guessed that.
What I need to know is, does it work in sync with the interior lights during daylight as well as night please? Does the position of the headlight switch effect it too?

Thanks again!

Chris.

I think all interior lighting will only come up when the automatic headlight activation is activated, or the side lights/low beam is swtiched on manually. I don't leave automatic headlight activation on in my car.

I just tested in dark. The interior and door handle lights come on regardless of the headlight setting. The angel eyes and rear/plate lights only if headlights are on auto.

you're a superstar. - thanks for your help.

Been busy buying a house after a year in Oz. Just getting back to things, so I may have a crack at this at the weekend.

Trust me, I'll let you know (i'll either be joyous or suicidal! )

Ok, did my speaker in the doors this morning. I now have a 10 speaker system and an happy with the sound. The door casing came off reasonably easy, but 'popping plastic' always sounds alarmingly like breaking plastic.

All ok and back together.

Re the extended lighting, this will take more thought. There was no obvious power plug available, so I suspect the window module that is there would have a second socket. If so, I'll replace and it should work.

Back to realoem then! :D
