Extended leather

There dosen't seem to be to many cars that have extended leather, and I really think this enhances the interior.
Has anyone had there door cards, tunnel etc trimmed afterwards to enhance the interior, if so just wondering how much this is likely to cost, and is it a bit job?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Am looking at the one currently for sale at 4 Star a Classics, but not to sure about the blue leather.
 
Me either, not a fan of the blue leather. Remmeber the Z3's having something similar and always put me off.

Other than that, it's a lovely looking car. Be good if it came to someone on the forum!

Extended leather was an option and it covers the door cars, pillars and sun visors etc.

As for price, no idea as I haven't had anything like this done but I would guess it would be a fair few hundred given the time and effort it would involve.

Am sure someone will be along shortly with some further info.
 
It was something like a £3k option when new, so I can't imagine it being particularly cheap even aftermarket. Does make a big difference, though.
 
I'd love extended leather, i didn't realise it was an option when i was looking for my car :o I did actually look at a 30 Si and my friend and i noticed the sun visors and the top of the windscreen surround was in leather but neither of us realised what it was :headbang:

I have a 2005 Z4M Roadster price list that quotes all the available options, Full Nappa Leather (extended leather) was priced at £1915 inc vat @ 17.5% and covers :- full door cards, centre console, storage compartment lid,'A' pillars, windscreen top rail, sun visors and roll-over hoops (only on the M)

And the carbon leather dash was standard :o with the brushed aluminium as a no cost option
 
It's nice but I really wouldn't hold out for one as you will have a long wait more than likely. It's not really worth it, It's a sports car not a luxury barge. If you have champagne extended leather the rear flap and 4 tunnel grommets are black and not champagne, so some of it isnt thought out properly.

I'm with you with the black/blue interior though :thumbsdown:
 
I would love extended leather.

I had that exact same blue/black interior in my old coupe, and I loved it. When I put it up for sale I sold the car quick because of it, and to a forum member :)
 
Extended leather is something i couldn't care less about tbh, bet the car smells nice though! lol

I've got it, but would happily swap it for the cloth/suede combo I had in my e34 M5.

I love that thread. Personally I think that's the way the car should be, shame it was such a pricey option. I get that it's a sports car, not a luxury barge, but it's classy, and I bet there are a lot fewer rattles and creaks. The one thing they missed IMO was leavening the dash. One day I will have a car with a hand-stitched leather dash 8)

To get it done aftermarket would probably cost a bomb. If you think about it, surely the plastic trim under the leather must be slightly different so it all fits... Or do you think they just skinned the existing trim ?
 
What does it add to your ownership out of interest Flimper? As I'm on the same page as Bing!

I just think cars without it look cheap in comparison, I like the extra touch of luxury it gives. Would have it over Satnav, cruise & heated seats.
 
Ridiculous judging by my expectations as opposed to yours, but if that's the way you prioritise your preferences then I retract my use of the word ridiculous. Still a little 'unusual' :P

I agree about the touch of luxury, I'd just put it after those three things.

It will creak and rattle just as much as non extended cars.
