Hi,
Can someone confirm if indeed the tyre wall on the ///M is a profile larger than on the 3.0 front and rear? The tyres on the 3.0 are 225*40*18 FR and 255*35*18 rear but on the ///M I think they are 225*45*18 FR and 255*40*18 rear, is that right?

Also, can someone cost up what the following options cost when new and where I put an asterisk, please let me know what it is

Bluetooth phone prep + telematics
BMW ConnectedDrive-Assist * (what is this?)
CD changer
Loudspeaker system - LOGIC7 Professional
Navigation-system Professional
Voice Control * (voice control of what?)

You're correct about the higher sidewall on ///M tyres.

Voice control is for controlling phone & sat nav (£300)
ConnectedDrive-Assist is so you can get info from the internet & BMW straight to the car [although the Z4 version is a basic version of this] (free)

Bluetooth prep & telematics (£500)
CD changer was (£300)
Logic 7 [as they call it now] was (£800)
Nav System Professional (£2000)

Ta,
What kind of info can the car get from the net or BMW in the case of the ConnectedDrive?
Is the sat nav any good from late 2006 year cars? That was an expensive option! is it still supported (in other words, can the maps be upgraded now and in the future?). I have an old 2006 navman that I use but the maps are well out of date and it isn`t possible to get map upgrades.

ConnectedDrive (assuming you register & pay for it) basically lets you send addresses from googlemaps to your car via a ConnectedDrive account, plus it lets you connect to an operator whilst you're driving to get some more info on restaurants, hotels, etc.

Sat nav is okay - some get on with it better than others, and there's no way it's worth £2000. New maps can be bought from the dealer - you get a discount if you bring in your old disc.

The prices I have - taken from BMW are pretty much the same as mmmfive says, but the nav is cheaper:

Voice control - £280
Bluetooth prep & telematics - £380
CD changer - £290
Logic 7 - £695
Nav System Professional - £1465

I registered my car for connected drive when I had it in January (2 years old) and I'm not paying for it. Is it only free for a time, and then you have to pay?

The google map thing I find really useful, just find where you want to go in google maps, click send, enter your BMW username and its done. In the car you just choose retrieve and the full address is there ready to navigate too.

New 2009 maps and OS version (to get 3D view) are available as said from dealers, or from various sites on the internet though I wouldn't condone that sort of thing!
