Experience with non OEM headlights

A friend recently came back to her Z4 to find that somebody had reversed into it and driven off without leaving a note.

Having suffered a smashed headlight in the process she's taken the opportunity to upgrade from OEM halogens (55 plate, 2.0i SE) to some non OEM units from this eBay seller:

Alas now they are fitted, her Z4 has failed the MOT as the lamps are currently set up for LHD. The seller assures us that they can be easily converted but there is nothing obvious. So has anybody got any experience of these lamp units? There's a recent thread (http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25422) about non OEM lights, but they seem to be different units. How much do LHD and RHD lamp units differ anyway? Surely you'd make one type and adjust for each market as required?

Thanks

hi, i have these lights on my car - albeit with black inners - made by Sonar, i think. Anyway - i had this emailed to me by the seller of my lights. Mine passed MOT last monthbut did need slight adjustment - in this case, angled the main beam down rather than across.

Hope this helps. I do recall however the boxes that my lights came in did have 'RHD' stickers on them........

That is very helpful, thanks. Emails to the seller haven't yielded any response, and this is the info we've been waiting on.

assuming you bought on ebay and paid with PayPal then log a dispute if they don't get back to you. State the car has failed the MOT so not fit for purpose. It does appear if you have received LHD ones where as imp75 received RHD.

I considered these but chose to hold out until I found some clear oem lights

They are too 'aftermarket' for me and make the z4 look a tad 'barry boy'
