Expensive couple of weeks, SO worth it.

Well, I've been spoiling my Z.

First was a service, then a machine polish, then a full wheel referb at Wheels U.K. in Coventry, then off to MIJ Performance in Birmingham for a custom back box delete with gorgeous black tips. And then I'm off to see Dave on Monday for the motor relocation.

Adding up the cost is enough to make my eyes water, but it now drives, looks and sounds AMAZING.

I made a little video on my iPhone 5. Here's the YouTube link...

I imagine your 'to-do' lists don't hang around for long  Looks great, Absolutely worth it. I'm in for a wheel refurb soon too. May I ask how much the machine polish set you back? single stage or compound + polish?

I did the same delete on my 3.0si, it didn't last that long and looking back on it was a terrible decision.
Loss of bottom end power and drones to hell and back.
Good luck with it :D!

Sounds nice and looks good. Had you thought about the ZHP gear knob upgrade? cheap at £50 :)

Lovely job, would be interested in knowing who did the polish for you, especially if they are anyway near Coventry.

The exhaust is absolutely fine. Sounds fantastic. I drove just over 400 miles over 7 hours on Monday, and it didn't bother me one bit. It's still got the cat and middle resonator on, only the back box was removed. Maybe it's not as bad on the 2.0 as it is on the 3.0.

The polish was done by a local body shop. (My boss drove the car and scraped the front bumper on a kerb, so paid to get it re-sprayed!) I paid £120 for a machine polish. They machined it with a heavier compound, which got out lots of little, and a few bigger scratches. Then they polished it, then waxed it. I actually sent it back, as there was swirl marks when I got it back. I think they should have done the polish by machine too, but they said they don't. But they hadn't got out the swirls that the machine and compound had left. It's much better now, but when it's really clean and under bright lights you can still see swirls :( Another body shop quoted £150, but he said they would have machined it twice. Maybe I'm expecting too much from 9 year old paint that's traveled 92000 miles!?!
