Expansion tank

Expansion tank has just given up on me, went with a bit of a bang, split almost the full length.
Anything I need to look out for when replacing?

There’s a clip underneath the tank you really can’t see but can feel so make sure that’s undone before pulling it up and out. Also elevate the front end on the m54 while bleeding the system. N52 bleed procedure is bit different a quick search should cover some items I didn’t mention but take your time when bleeding. There’s a decent YouTube vid on how to on the m54 as well

A lot of aftermarket bottles don't fir properly/easily. BMW ones just slot straight in.

Grease the O rings before inserting the hoses.

I fitted a Meyle HD one. Super OEM quality, 2 year warranty, went in easily and no problems since. I believe the FEBI Bilstein are also good. IIRC when removing my original BMW one it was a Behr so they are probably fine too.
