Expansion Tank and Hoses O-Rings Help Needed

Hi All,

I was hoping someone on here could help. A week ago I noticed my coolant light come on and there was a leak from below. The tank was replaced my BMW 2 years ago with a different owner and they seem to have left a right mess.

I just got a new expansion tank bracket as the part that connects to the tank had broken however there is still coolant seeping from this area and there is no o-rings present. Does anyone know if there should be o-rings on the tank and if so what size they should be?

Also on hose 4 in this diagram do you know what size o-ring should be on each end of this? I have none present at all!

Thanks!

Check the top radiator supports under the plastic bit on front of engine..top side...I had a similar problem when I had mine changed and one was left out, allowing the rad to move.
I believe all pressure fittings with o rings already on the male parts.

I managed to change the bracket and the orings so there is no longer a leak - however the coolant light wont stay off! The float does not come out the top of the tank is it supposed to? Not entirely sure how the float is linked to the sensor at the bottom of the tank
