Exhausts..

Z4M-2006

Been looking at Cat back systems and rear boxes..

Not interested in RPi as too noisy....Looked at all the usual suspects and all seem much of a muchness.

But...............I see Hayward and Scott are doing a cat back system for £990 inc VAT. Has anyone bought one ?

Many years ago H&S had a superb reputation,i had one on my Impreza and was impressed with quality and noise level.

Anyone?

I think Sixspeed has one on his M - take a look at YouTube and try to find his on a search.

Couldn't comment about quality etc etc has I haven't got one.. Sounds good though.

Paza is selling a SuperSprint system.

Yep..

Wouldnt be giving a grand for a second hand Supersprint....

Not when DC performance will get you a new Supersprint mid section and rear boxes for £1125...

Would highly recommend the Stromung silencers I have. About £680 new, shipped & imported from the states. Great deep tone, with the volume turned up!

Lots of youtube clips.

Also yet to hear (on youtube at least) an exhaust on our M that sounds good to me, I like the CSL kinda noise, standard sounding but more 'racey' without being ricey. All the CSL clips on youtube sound immense, shame that on basically the same engine you need so much dollar to get it sounding the same :(

Here's my Stromung (with Gruppe M). I couldn't be happier with it. I've had Eisenmann, Milltek etc exhaust before, at double the money and this is by far the best sounding exhaust. Hardly any rasp, just very deep and louder, but not too loud.

This video shows it off better....

I too was very undecided about an exhaust for the Z4M prior to buying the Stromung system. The S54 is typically better at making intake\engine noises than exhaust and some systems don't sound good, including the internal bypass mod I did on my original silencers, it was awful, but this really is epic! As I said before, I'd take it over the Gruppe M any day

Email Stromung, direct, no need to go through a re-seller in the UK or US. Scott Stromung is the owner and the guy that will respond to your query.

Thanks, have emailed them to see what they can piece together...exchange rate should be in our favour at the moment. I'll let you all know what he comes back with.

What's the drone like at motorway speeds etc?

Very tempted although still not convinced for some reason....
I like this clip though

Anyone around the Berkshire/Reading area that would be available to hear it in the flesh.....? :)

As above that's my concern and hence the induction kit is perfect first addition. When booting it on wide open throttle it sounds Magic. Then normal driving it's not going to annoy anyone

No real drone, it's a little boomy between 1800rpm to 2000rpm, but that's faded with miles and I don't notice it anymore. Don't get me wrong, I've had some horrendously boomy exhausts on previous cars, worst was the Milltek on my 3.0 Z4, his exhaust is sublime. Even better than the Eisenmann I had on 550i 4.8 V8.

Two only two in the country are in Aberdeen :)

Anyone have any experience of Eisenmann exhaust, either sport or race.....Roy at CA is doing 20% off these at the moment, so thought I'd ask for opinions on this option?

I was going to chime in with Roy's offering too. I would still need to hear one in the metal as for me I'm rather fussy. If it's a fraction louder and still has the unique rasp effect I'm in. Boomy isn't for me and 40 miles of my commute is motorway
