Can someone please tell me if a 2.0 rear box is the same as a 3.0? Both on 04 plates. Both boxes have twin pipes.
Reason I ask is, I have the chance of a used rear box that I can use as a donor box for the forum member to modify therefore keeping my original 'just in case'. But only if they are the same.

Appreciate your thoughts.

No, they are different. Look at the pics on my thread here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=89154&start=75

Halfway down the page is the pic of the 2.0 system.

Also, I would be interested in the 3.0 box to use on an exchange service if you aren't having it?

They are not actually that much different. I believe from what i have seen of them when i used to mod and mess around with the back boxes. The second input to the 2.0 car is just blanked off as there is only 1 exhaust pipe for the 1 bank of cylinders. So if you welded in a blanking plate or didn't connect up one of the outlets it could work.

No it's a 2.0 box up for grabs.
I was hoping to use it for an exchange unit for you so I had one standard & one modified.
I have emailed you yesterday re-mod, did you get it?

Email received Nick, I replied with my Tel No.

I'm currently (still) waiting on the return of an unmodded 3.0 back box from another member, but 'm also looking at a couple of others, so will still be able to do it on an exchange basis.

Fitting is easy, 30 mins max, although any exhaust place/garage will probably do it in less time on the ramps if you aren't confident. The sleeves I supply to fit are very high quality, and a perfect fit without the need for any sealant or paste.
