I have a 2L 2006 E85.

Tomorrow I'm having the single pipe changed to a dual exit purely for aesthetics.

This doesn't include the back box just the pipes.

So not after noise its just looks but my query is..............................

I've seen several posts on here about having new exhausts fitted but will have to wait until they are run in.

My garage guy said he will let me hear it first before any final details are sorted.

When I hear it at the garage tomorrow I'm assuming it will be "slightly" louder, but how much louder (if any) would it get when its run in?

I live in pensionerville, Norfolk, UK so don't want to start feckin the coffin dodgers off just because I want 2 pipes!

If you are just going to two pipes and not changing the rear box at all then noise should be unchanged. If they are cutting into the rear box and adding another outlet then it may affect it, it totally depends on what they are doing?

I think anything you do as far as cutting a second exit in the back box will have little if any effect on the sound. Keep us posted... pics would be good, too
I'm basing this comment on research I did with a TR7 when I was much younger. I kept putting holes in the rear box attempting to make it sound like it had a much bigger engine It took a remarkable amount of holes before any change was noted...

No difference in noise but pleased with the look. I could have went a 1/2" wider on each pipe but hey ho, its what I wanted!
