Exhaust Tips/Stubby questions

1. My exhaust tips are badly corroded. Is it easy to replace them and if it is, best place to source them?

2. What is it with Z4-Forum and stubbies (Whatever they are)?

1a: yes.. they unscrew with a flat-head screw underneath each tip. however, they do get corroded and you may need to drill out the screw.

1b: Machine Monkey (a member here) does knock up some mighty fine replacements.. worth a poke

2: Stubbies are a replacement aerial. they are usually about 1-2 inches in length and replace the whip-like aerial that is standard on our cars.

this is a fitted stubby:

and this is a whip aerial:

1a On your car there is no screw and are held in place by spring clips. But they do still get coroded so might need a twist and a bloody good pull.

1b Yes i do there is a thread on them http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=60853&hilit=exhaust+tips#p898770 But i am not trying to up sell. You can buy replacements from BMW. Some members have also removed and painted them

For stubby, a Peugeot aerial or Mangowalk are good options.

Mangowalk are on eBay, you need to visit their shop. For Peugeot, you can also get on ebay.
