Exhaust rattle

My exhaust has started rattling on idle, starting to get really annoying. It rattles once the cars warmed up a bit and sits at lower revs, or when I'm pulling away from low rpm. Weirdly dipping the clutch can briefly stop it as well before it returns. Anyway I had a look tonight and it's definitely the back box, well that's where the sound is, if I put slight pressure on the box it stops, felt around for heat shield contact etc and can't feel anything. Is something busted in the box itself or a hanger bent maybe? Can only see the one hanger near the back of the car on the right side. It's a 3.0si if that makes a difference. Any ideas please?

Edit: I also have slight vibration I can feel through the peddles and gear stick when at a reasonable speed. Could it be engine mount vibration related, tbh I thought this was a wheel balance issue but maybe it's linked.

The hangar that you can see ? Is it snapped ? The backbox wouldn't necessarily hang down but a broken hangar can cause annoying rattle & knocking

Nope the hanger appears OK from what I could feel. Is there just the one on the back box? Its weird the lightest touch with my finger can stop the rattling..

There are two hangers on the back box of a 3.0si - mine on the OSR has been broken for a while - the other is on the other side of the box. I noticed the broken one when I had the wheel off for brake work don't know if you can see it that well with wheel on

The hanger itself I have noticed is hollow tubing - so weak and prone to snapping

I'll be getting mine spot welded soon but tbh it doesn't rattle but have been told there is movement by fellow zeders travelling behind

You could have a combination of things going on though - dipping the clutch may relieve a DMF rattle which again is common

I noticed a rubber sleeve thing on the left side of the box but no hanger to the chassis, will investigate further, maybe that's it.

Going to presume a DMF rattle means imminent failure and expensive fix? To be fair I can sometimes hear a rattle which goes on clutch depress..

Is this part a hanger because it has nothing coming from it on mine from what I could tell?

Jack the car up on the passenger rear and have a look behind the rear passenger wheel.

Above the rear left of the exhaust is the hanger that usually breaks.

It almost always breaks at the weld on the exhaust.

Just get it welded back.

My exhaust hanger has also come away as the weld has failed.

Any idea of how much it will cost to re weld the hanger ?

Anyone local in Bedfordshire area that anyone can recommend ?

Thanks.

Jacked it up and had a look. Looks like I've lost the exhaust bracket and the hanger.. :(

Would also like to know roughly what I should be looking at cost wise.
