Love the Z but would like the exhaust louder

Noise generator is fine in cab but still sounds too quite outside, unfortunately I have been involed in TVRS in the past so used to loud

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi , what car do you have? I’ve just taken off my eisenmann race exhaust because I’m part exchanging the car , this is for a 30 i
If it’s any good to you look at the ad in for sale section, it sounds fantastic on the car , might be putting another eisenmann system on the 89 but have to check , the dealer said it’s got after market exhaust already, BUT IS IT LOUD ENOUGH!!!

I have the back box removed from my 2.5si. If neighbours weren’t an issue it would be perfect if you’re used to tvr’s. I’ve heard a lot of people say the 3.0i suffers more with drone if there’s no back box as it uses a completely different system. If that is true then I’d say you’d be better off with a gutted box or a sports silencer.

I’m waiting to pull the trigger on a quad conversion, I’ll be having a sporty box put in so I’m within track day limits and also so I’m not cringing my way through my town at night and when parking on the drive at night. It sounds great with no box, but all things considered I’d say fit a box or modify your own.

I had a chimaera 500 and can confirm you won't get a similar sound. I had a DLV box and it sounded crap.

I'd investigate some of the better known brands personally

Cheers any options

I mean... You're not gonna get a Z sounding the same as a burly v8 unless you put a burly v8 in it.

I've heard of centre box deletes being a good option. Beyond that it's the business end of a grand for a good pipe.

It’s ok I know nothing will sound like the tivs

I like the straight six sound just like it to be a bit louder

Someone mentioned taking 2 off the 4 cats out,so I’ll propose start at that,I’ll let u know how I go on

If you're used to loud TVRs then backbox delete and secondary cat delete should suit. Cheap and cheerful - shouldnt cost more than a couple of hundred £.

OP - get one of these:

+1 for backbox delete. Sounds great, not too loud for neighbours IMO. I don’t find the drone as annoying as some make out!

there is no doubt its in the ear of the beholder. :D

I’ve just done a back box delete on my 3.0si 06 and my mate has just done a delete on this 3.0 03 z4.

Both sound brilliant (his better tbh) and no drone on either

I’ve seen only back box deletes with the box cut off and welded straight pipes. Is it not possible for a flanged back box delete so can simply swap it back if too loud?

I still have the eisenmann race box mate :driving:
Personally I would get in touch with this man OP, back box delete drones, DLV box is a good cheap sound, but a proper box is the way if you have the budget

my steve got breathed on today. i will make a video when i can to add to the discussion, its possible it might be the last dlv to grace the forum, but oooh. i like it.

Well the weather has turned to poo, so the video will have to wait. But...oooo it spits it snarls, it growls.... And when I start it up.... It gets even better,... Damn it sounds mean... It sounds like an old Shelby, I'm like a dog with 2 tails. :D
