Exhaust. OEM?

Thanks both.

The inspection2+discs also included some replacement on the power steering, but I take your points, I certainly overpaid/overpay.

Problem is OEM part not available till end Aug/September, so that will be same with an independent.

I think there's someone on here selling 2nd hand OEM boxes. Also, they regularly pop up on Ebay. Then take them to an indy to fit, BMW probably won't fit as not supplied by them but will cost you a fraction of the price all in, well under £1000 put it that way. £2900 for two new boxes fitted is throwing money away IMHO unless there's something I've missed regarding fitting.

Edit :
There you go: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=92992

Buy this kit at the same time to sort the other parts that might fail, fit at same time as back boxes: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E46-M...id=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&mehot=ag&sd=172286020882

£300, plus maybe £150-£200 or so fitted at a decent indy = a shed load of money left over for beer to celebrate an epic saving!

Thank you, that seems like good advise.

The "Center muffler with pipes" apparently also needs replacing. I would call this the pipe/tube that connects to the box. On the video they sent me they just refer to the right box and the connection with the pipe, so I assume the end of the pipe is also damaged. But I guess that still could be done by indy too.

Take Nige bcs's advice and give him a call!!!
The flange kit WITH RINGS Mike linked to are also a must at £30. Had a trip to BCS today and - guess what - flange and ring kit needed. I'll be back there next week to what I thought was going to happen today...still, I won't regard it as a wasted trip if next week goes OK and I appreciated the techie saying he couldn't do the work without further parts - better dismantling the whole back end only to find you can't now re-attach it.... See you next week Nige!

Thanks Stevo
Really sorry that we couldn't complete the install due to the broken flanges.
Looking forward to seeing you next week bud
