Exhaust noise

Would I be correct in saying, if I wanted a bit more noise from the exhaust on my 30i, a backbox mod is the easiest route.
Would ideally like a bit of noise on the overrun and downshift.
Don’t want pops and bangs tho
Been quoted 295.00 for a back box mod
Is that the likely cost?

Pity you aren't near me in Lancs , guy i use would sort a custom made bolt on / bolt off backbox (under £200) or for under £100 removal of a silencer with straight pipes slotted in that can be reversed easily enough .
I wouldn't be paying £295 for a backbox mod that sounds like true banditry
