Exhaust mods

Hi guys,
looking at doing something with my e86 coupe exhaust, however I want to keep it relatively tasteful. I want to hear more of the grunt from that lovely straight 6 upfront, but I’m not too keen on the thought of a constant drone and pops and bangs. Could anyone recommend me the best way to go about modding the exhaust?

Thanks in advance

Remove secondary cats and replace with an X-pipe, it creates a perfect compromise. Well it did on mine 8)

I confess.....I didn't even notice the bottom of the post

My 2nd 3.0Si came fitted with a custom cat-back exhaust and sounded great. Louder than standard but no drone. :)

I've heard a 3.0Si with a back-box delete and I really wouldn't recommend that - it's LOUD!

Mine came with Stromung. I think they look very nice, high quality and not real loud, but IMHO a pretty perfect exhaust that your wife still likes driving the car, cuz it's not too loud.

Got the Bastuck backbox at the rear, and the aFe intake at the front. Combined they make the car sound as it should: slightly raspy growl up front, a deep burble at the rear. All imo, of course
