Exhaust mod

What are peoples thoughts on this mod? Just fancied a little more noise without all the hassle of a new exhaust etc..

I had one of those mods on my e85 and it sounded flat as s**t.
 
Problem is we never hear our own cars as others do when we are driving. Several people have said how nice it sounds when i drive off. I even noticed when my business partner drove off in her car how nice the exhaust note was. Both 23i's.
I think you have to play the throttle just right to get the right sounds and some super unleaded does no harm.
I think you have to be careful not turn into to chavy Astra sound.

True that about hearing the sound from the outside, I ONCE let my Mrs drive the car around an open car park and it sounded lovely driving past. I'm in my 40's and certainly don't want to replicate some youngsters fart can machine; just my old e85 2.5 sounded a little sweeter from within, probably due to the tin roof I guess.
