Exhaust ideas

Hi everyone,

Probably a well discussed topic but I've recently completed a home made back box delete and its way too droney for me. I've got a 3.0i so the m54 engine and everything online seems to be regarding the n52.

I'm a bit of a yob so want it to be as loud as possible with minimal drone and lots of pops and bangs. One idea I am contemplating is to remove the secondary cats and resonator then get a custom back box but I wasn't sure if this would create fault codes etc. Anyone got any ideas? I'm happy to spend a decent amount of money but the less the better. Cheers

Depends on your level of yob as to how loud you want to go.

I can only comment on the Ebay Exhuast as that's all I have experience of, that and the original standard one. I can highly recommend the ebay exhaust. Seems to get a very negative review lately but I put one on my 3.0i about 18 or so months ago and it's great. Bolted straight on (after I fought with the seized manifold to exhaust studs) and sounds great. Not droney, but lots of pops and burbles and a fair increase in volume.

Any videos/sound clips of the ebay exhaust you have?

I've tried but it doesn't really capture it on my phone. Look for the 'Ebay Exhaust' thread on here though, a few decent videos on there if I remember correctly.

I think the exhaust put on mine by the previous owner is ebay (albeit Direnza) and its pretty decent. It is single pipe from post-resonator to backbox which bothers me a little though.
