i dont think any special ltool is need but the 02 sensor wrench makes life just a breeze.... £40 is fair imo you cant grumble at all..... but with the sensor cost were talking 180 bags nearly so any money is my back pocket is imo a bonus.

ill try and do mine sunday, childcare dependant. will do a minor DIY, as these are a regular thing i think its a handy thing to feel comfortable doing.
 
Agreed, would rather do it myself, really enjoy working on the car.

For the pre cat sensor, is it visible or do you need to remove cover panels etc.

Which o2 sensor wrench do you have, out if interest.

completely visable from underneath and they plug in under the cam cover in front of the spark plugs.....

i purchased the laser 22mm lamdba sensor wrench, it was a order only item and cost 14.99 :-)

its a multi movement ratchet and makes life super easy....
 
Yes I did, I was getting confused with the US car which has different sensors. Both pre cat sensors are the same part number on ours and are circa £155 with discount.

No one seems to sell the exact sensor except BMW.

Are you sure about the numbering order from back to front? Can you refer me to a reference that shows this? My understanding is the numbering is front to back. I can't find explicit reference, but for removing the front manifold, the TIS instructs to remove the sensor 1-3. This strongly implies 1-3 is to the front and 4-6 are towards windscreen.

Your right .... ;-) cylinder 1 is closest to the rad.
 
my new sensor arrives tomorrow , hoping to get this in the car by mid next week, and hopefully not have another one for a while. PLEASE. This part cost nearly 170gbp with delivery from bmini spares.
