Exhaust debaffle

Hi all,

I'm looking for your opinion on debaffling the rear boxes on my car for a bit more sound. I've seen examples of how this can be done in the forum and I'd rather modify than buying an Eisenmann or some other 3rd party exhaust.

I have a quote from Style Dynamics for 399. Is that price ballpark, and does anyone here have experience with them?

Thanks!

In a couple of weeks I’m heading to ‘Demand engineering’ based in Suffolk to get this mod on my Mc

I’ve been quoted around £200

I will do a before and after video and post once completed.

Looks like the linked video may now be private.

Just search ‘M3 exhaust mod’ on YouTube and you’ll find an example.

Okay so here is the link to show you the sound after boxes were modified.
Just over £200 costs

Would like to hear it on the road rather than on ramps with dodgy acoustics.
To me it currently sounds like a wet fart. Much higher pitch. May sound a bit silly, but it makes it sound like a smaller engine?

Please be clear, I'm not rubbishing it, I just don't think the video does it any justice.

Thanks nedoth. The sound is always hard to capture on video but I was more interested in the implementation and cost. I was able to pause your video to see how you sliced up the 'boxes

I agree that it’s never easy to get the full sound experience from a brief video.
I’ve yet to be able to properly listen through the Rev range as on my way home it was thunderstorms!

Definitely not significantly louder just note changes and maybe just feels a little smoother.

This will always be a personal choice.
