Exhaust clamps

Hi ", I have the exhaust clamp falling to bits issue on the mc , can anyone remember the size of the Peugeot Citroen clamps that some have used. Can't seem to find the split stainless clamps that used to be available. On eBay. Thanks. :thumbsup:
 
I've just bought a set of 4 split clamps on eBay. Got them yesterday for £25 delivered. They are not the original stainless ones that the guy was charging over £100 for.

This has lead to the other guy dropping his prices. He is also listing on eBay Although they are still over double the cost of these.

I've no idea the condition of my flanges, but at £25 seemed silly not to be prepared, especially if I do anything to the rear boxes as this is when I would probably need them.
 
I think its the 66mm ones you need but you are better off going with the ones that srhutch has posted.

Bargain, and I think I'm going to invest myself.
 
Noticed my flange was a bit crusty the other day (ooh err!) so also ordered the I6 ones. They seem decent enough.

Strange that the 2 flange kit is more expensive on the i6 website than the 4 flange kit is on eBay

They are the same, although not sure what they are made from exactly. They have been plated though so corrosion shouldn't be an issue.

Even the ones Andy is selling aren't the same now They are cast instead of being machined. No issue with that, and the price is more sensible. For what I do though these i6 ones will be more than suitable.

I too am keen to have a set of these 1/2 flanges in stock .... just in case
Are the I6 versions as deep, back to front, as there is no photo of clamp in situ, on exhaust.
Looking at the 'in situ' pic of the former type, they must be 14mm or so deep, strong & substantial, when clamped in place.
Could Mister T please measure I6 variant

Certainly, they're 12.3mm

The i6 ones will more than four the job. I'd bet they are exactly the same size.
 
Brilliant! Thanks everyone, first class advice as usual. A set of 4 flange on their way, peace of mind! Is there a how to on fitting or just grind old ones off and clamp up new ones with a bit of exhaust assembly paste ? :thumbsup:
 
Just searched for these, so thanks for the heads-up, saved me a lot of looking ( Halfords didn't have them :o ) I'm just about to get a set of these, out of necessity. :x
Gone for the I6, as I can't be arsed digging out half the garage for 4 bolts
Then it's a call to Sopers in the morning for the gaskets.

Thanks to Kwik fit for putting it up on their ramps, and telling me I need new back and mid-sections and for promising to ring back tomorrow once they have a price for the part from BMW... :roll:

Lets hope the gaffer tape lasts until they arrive...........

Should be OK, seeing as I'm taking the garage key to work so the OH can't go out in it
