Exhaust Bypass Mod

[youtube][/youtube]So got my back boxes back on Friday with the bypass pipe fitted along with new tail pipes. The body of the boxes were given a polish as well.

I got new tail pipes on as I couldn't get used to the larger diameter of the MM pipes I had fitted. If anyone wants some cheap almost new MM pipes then let me know

I drove the car up to AMDetails today for its correction and coating so had a good drive both plodding and exhuberent and the exhaust is just what I was after. Steady throttle revs below 3k and not a lot of difference to the standard noise but when pressing on there is more volume and rasp than before but not ridiculous.

A good mod that I would never have thought to do myself. Thanks forum

Are you missing the flanges on the pipes. I can see the clamps aren't there, but the one on the left looks like it's missing the flange.

No it just must be the angle. When we took off the boxes both flanges were damaged but these were rewedded and shaped. They are good as new now.

The original clamps were rusted through so when we took them off we just cut them off and I got some stainless ones from eBay Germany.

Any half decent garage/workshop could do this for you, it's a matter of removing the back boxes, drilling a couple of holes in each and welding the bypass pipes in place, then replacing them, a couple of hours max, I think I paid about £70 for mine to be done

Wow I bet you can see those backboxes from half a mile-the main reason I painted mine black,I like this bypass idea though why pay £700+ when you can have this done.
