Converting the electric to hydraulic steering sounds like a big job, is it Matt?

Just what I was about to post. Interested to hear more.

I am not 100% sure yet i shall let you all know in my build thread once i have done it. But on the face of it no it shouldn't be!!! I have brought all the bits and they should (famous last words) Swap straight over. e46 3 series x3 x5 loads of other BMs use the engine so the brackets and mounting points for the reservoir and power steering pump are there.

Then i plan to just disconnect the electric motor. Its been done before. I will need to get or code out any faults.

I'm guessing it's easier on the M54 as the E46 had hydraulic steering, where as I believe all N52 cars have electric PAS.

Yes exactly m54 engines only. I forget that others have different engines...
