Excessive tyre wear

A mate of mine did a track day in his Z4 3.0i and had tyre wear on the front drivers side, I have never seen tyre wear like it. Is this just very hard cornering, have his tyres overheated or is it defective tyres? The tyres were Goodyear Asymmetric F1's

I'd be getting my alignment checked if that was my car

My mate's alignment is spot on having only had it checked a couple of months ago and tyres were ok with even wear prior to him doing the track day last week.

Road alignment is not good for track use.

But that looks more like the tyre is delaminating from overheating, so I assume he's going into corners too fast and sliding through them.
