My wife was given the all-clear on Friday, her secondary breast cancer is in remission!!!!!!
It's been really, really, s**t having it hang over our heads, she originally had it in 2010 and beat it back then, but 3 years ago it came back in her spine. After a year of being fobbed off by the doctor (pain killers etc), we asked for an MRI and they found it. (During that year she saw a physio who said the pain was all in her mind!.....I have often wanted to pay him a visit!).
She really is amazing, she puts up with so much and takes it in her stride, from the outside you wouldn't know anything is (was) wrong.
Its so unfair - she is a nurse who spends all her time looking after other people (she was awarded the title of Queens Nurse earlier this year in recognition of her excellent practice in community nursing), she's damn good at her job - it really is a vocation for her, not just a pay check!
