EWS Modules + Key Programming (Question/Service)

Random (ish) question.... I thought I'd ask before trying, simply because SURELY someone will have changed their EWS Module at some point?

Anyways, is the EWS Module coded to the vehicle? Is it plug and play so to speak? Can I simply change the VIN number in the EWS Module will it work? (Do I even need to!?)

I only ask because I was thinking ... I see many people, in numerous forums and facebook groups etc talking about getting new keys coded and the great expense the "stealers" charge.

I have personally coded a fair few E85's now using the AK90+... (I stopped cutting because I find the Defu cutter somewhat unreliable but probably operator error) BUT, the biggest "problem" people have, is finding the time to go to a fellow members place and have the module coded etc... I Know people offer postal services, but that still puts the car out of action.....

I just had a "brainwave" - I'm assuming they CAN be used on any car, and as such, you can buy them off eBay around £10 - £15. So, one could supply, for example, 3 x BLANK HU92 Keys (£10 each) AND a programmed EWS module (£10) for around £40. Then the "buyer" can take the blanks to an indie cutter, get the 3 blanks cut, then swap the EWS module in their own time. Even if you added £50 for doing the coding - that's £100 for 3 coded keys, AND The EWS Module.

Still FAR cheaper than the stealers....

Thoughts anyone!?

Edit: As I write this, I have actually just bought a £10 EWS Module off eBay. I already have a handful of spare HU92 Diamond keys (with transponder + remote) so will probably give it try this week

Would any others be interested in this as a service?
