What does everyone think to this?

Evolve have a black Friday 20% off deal making it £2400 fitted and mapped...

That's £600 off!

I have also been looking at the Karbonius as reccomended on here.

Still an obscene amount of money plus karbon is far far prettier

Evolve make good stuff. But I think what is more important the guy that dose there napping work. Is very highly regarded and his work can be trusted.

It’s a lot of money but if you have it and want it I don’t see a problem?

I would never go back there for a map and I know of many that won't either.

Was it six speed on here that had their map for the Z4M and which left him unable to heel and toe as the throttle wouldn't work with the brake applied? Apparently they eventually solved it, but that's pretty amateur to release something like that.

Really? That's disappointing to hear, I understood they had a great rep for mapping.

I know there are a few issues with Alpha N mapping and heel/toe.

When I looked at getting my Si supercharged ESS warned me that you couldn't heel and toe.

I'll speak to them again about any issues.

They have got a decent rep for there maps, sounds like an unusual issue above but the important thing is that they resolved it.
If you look at their feedback it seems overwhelmingly positive

sorry, but have to chime in here.. terrible rep for maps.. id buy the box, and get the tune elsewhere. don't have to go far to see their support. which is pretty much, oh you have this issue? well your on your own. Only just a few threads ago.. love the box, but terrible rubbish support.

sadly i dont think evolve ever got a handle on tuning this complex ECU which is closely related to the v8 and v10 models as opposed to the e46, it was a big jump in processing power at the time.

The box looks lovely in the pics but again, i saw one in person and tbh..... i wasn't overly impressed with some of the workmanship undertaken by evolve and the way this person was treated at the time, id like to mention his name so he can say a few words but i dont think he'd be too pleased if i did.

Thankyou everyone for your input.

Think I'm going to chicken out. I have not seen the product in person, also the bad feedback doesn't inspire me with confidence.

I'd have thought they'd sell you all the hardware without the tune. Should bring the price down a fair bit (£500 ish?) and leave you free to choose a mapper. Edit: (Just noticed vanne already pointed this out  )

I believe Geoff steel are doing an improved version of their box and I think it's still one of the cheaper versions available (not including the dubious looking eBay ones that crop up) so if you're dead set on one then that might be worth a look.

The carbon looked lovely but the wiring skills...or lack thereof which was basically just a couple of splices for the MAF delete left a lot to be desired...
