The eventuri intake doesn't need a remap mate. It is designed to be able to work as a bolt on part. If you did want to remap aswell you would not need the more expensive alpha N mapping. Stage 1 mapping will work perfectly because this Intake retains the MAF.

Interesting feedback there.

Personally im not at the point where i have more skill than the Z4 M can offer so im not really about chasing a few bhp here or there, so will likely spend my monies honing my skills. However it looks a great bit of kit and for those interested, well worth the money.

Not quite sure what you're talking about here? Eventuri intake is £500, that's it. Since it keeps the MAF no remap is required.
 
You misunderstand..

I know that the car doesn't "need" a remap... But if an intake and exhaust are to be fitted to gain some bhp then surely a remap( which should yield best bhp per £££) would be a no brainer..

Unless the £500 spend is just for a noise enhancer of course..

Wasn't the 'half price' quote referring to doing the Alpha-N on a CSL box though?

I use the extra noise to keep me at sensible, as it makes me feel like I'm going faster than I am :P

There are a few threads running at the minute on this so I probably asked the question incorrectly..

The question still stands though..

Like I said earlier in this thread or maybe not, there are some claims of 30bhp from an evolve remap for the s54.. So another 10bhp for the eventuri and maybe a couple from an exhaust with X pipe and theoretically something approaching 380bhp if all adds up correctly ?

Extremely unlikely. The remap 'might' give you 15-20 and remember these engines usually put out in stock form something between 315-330 bhp (as seen on most dynos). I am also unsure as to whether or not evolve offer their remap for the S54 in our cars due to the difference in ECU. The eventuri might also add 10bhp (claims are that it does), though I would be surprised if it is quite as high as that just in it's own right. I would expect you'll see around 350bhp mapped with air intake. The map though is not just about the power but also the 'driveability' of the engine, throttle response is improved and there will be less flat spots if done correctly.
 
The car will go back to have the map put back on and dyno tested with the intake as soon as we can free up time with work

Yes mate. Katie had it on the car before the intake went on. Then the car was put back to standard to test the new Intake system

I have had one for a couple of years. Couldn't tell a difference with or without it to be honest. It's nicely made. Have no idea how it compares with the Eventuri version...

Just to clarify - an Alpha N Remap is not required with this Intake.

Evolve have a remap which is £499 but they said they would do it for £399 for forum members with before and after dyno runs.
 
Thats great..... Good news....

So as a roundabout figure, Eventuri,remap and Exhaust with X pipe...... What kinda BHP increase could be expected..?
 
Sounds nice, although not quite as 'good' as the Gruppe M....but hard to really tell unless you have them back to back.
