Eventuri fitted, thoughts.

OG, a cheaper option to significantly improve handling would be RTABs and the engine mounts. You may find you don't need coilovers once you've done that. ARBs are only a few hundred too vs potentially well over a thousand for coilovers.

When you say handling BMWZ4MC do you mean specifically the road-holding/grip or do you mean damping as well? It's the particularly poor damping/harsh ride at the rear that annoys me. The ability to adjust the suspension is tempting me on the coilovers so that I can improve ride quality as well as handling.

Sounds good, not that Ms are lacking any drama in the sounds department

Ive brought mine a AFE induction kit and have plans for alit exhaust mod this month to add little bit noise :driving:

Ah ok, in that case I'm not sure new engine mounts are what you need. I thought you were looking to improve the handling wrt road holding and feedback. You'll need to change the springs and dampers for sure. Have a look at the KW website - the Clubsports that Beedub and I are running are definitely not for you (unless you plan to make a track car out of your Zed) and even the V3s might be a bit more aggressive than you need. You could contact them and ask what they have to improve road manners rather than track behavior - IIRC they have an office in Kent not far from Mr Bing.

Thanks for the advice BMWZ4MC. I'm conscious I've hijacked ncrossy's thread here though!

I do want to improve handling and feedback, because I've started to do the odd track day, but I also want to eliminate some of the things I don't like - such as poor gearchange (which I hoped the engine mounts would help with) and the poor damping too. In doing that if I can add the ability to adjust the settings if I take the car on track then so much the better.

Now I'll let the thread get back to ncrossy's eventuri!

First Perry, the OG - what's the world coming to when committed stockers start discarding their faith

I'm doing engine mounts and RTAB limiters as soon as I have some pennies, and in the future either new wheels or a refurb of mine. Or maybe an Eventuri...Though it sounds like I am being volunteered as a suspension mule too :D

What ARBs would he an upgrade ?

H&R ARBs from the E46 M3, Bing. I have both front and rear and it corners absolutely dead flat. I needed adjustable drop links to get the front ARB to work with my Clubsports but I think they would probably have been ok with a car on stock suspension running at stock height.

The discusion of suspension should be in another thread. Having said that, ARBs address lateral bodyroll, but this is not the real problem with the Z4M's OEM suspension. The problem is one of gross imbalance of the front and rear OEM springs and dampers, which are too stiff at the rear and too soft at the front, making the front end floaty and the steering imprecise due to the excessive pitch and lift and the ride too firm. Replacing the OEM suspension is the only real fix. Fitting RTAB limiters, uprated ARBs, Engine mounts etc. will help once the suspension has been replaced.

It'd be great if we could get a Z4-Forum day at bruntingthorpe - i'd happily let people drive my car around a bit to see how it drives and vice versa. I think the main problem with tuning handling is that the end result isn't so clear cut unless you've experienced it - so (i know i am) people are hestitant to shell out without knowing the end result.
