Event Potentum Tyres

Had a new set of these fitted 3 weeks ago, 265/30/19 rears and 225/35/19 fronts for £309.55.

Now normally I wouldn't touch budget tyres with a bargepole but these are rated- Fuel: C, Wet Grip: B, and Noise: 71 which is better than the usual Falkens or Vredesteins I have, and I thought- how bad can they be? My car is a daily driver used mainly for commuting so I wasn't too worried about their performance hooning around A-roads, and I decided to take the plunge and give them a go.

I've done just over 1,000 miles so far and I have to say, I'm really impressed. Commuting-wise they are absolutely fine, nice and quiet on the motorway, nothing out of the ordinary. In the last few days I've made it onto some quieter roads outside of rush hour and thrown the car into a few wet/greasy looking roundabouts and the car has stuck to the road like glue.

Obviously it's early days but they have been excellent so far. I'll keep the thread updated as I cover more miles, maybe they'll wear badly or begin to lose grip with mileage but so far, so good

Funnily enough, I bought a complete set of these for the Winter Zed last week (2x 225/40/18's & 2x 255/35/18's) which cost me £240 all in & fitted.

I would agree with Stuboy, I was suspicious but the tyre guy I always use recommended them knowing my situation and requirements and the 200 miles Ive done on them so far have given me no complaints. I drove up through the Wye Valley in them last week (I posted the video) and they were quiet and held the line in surface water and at temps around zero degrees. Nice pattern and wide drainage channels.

For the price, they seem a bargain.
