Eurotrip (Alps pics included)

Hi folks,

Just got back from two weeks in the zed with the wife. Apart from a vague idea of which areas we were going to visit we basically just packed the car up with some clothes and drove off. Route ended up roughly like this:

London -> Folkestone/Eurotunnel/Calais -> Luxembourg -> Zurich -> Alps (Grindelwald) -> Alps (Zermatt) -> Genoa/Portofino -> Monaco -> Nice -> Paris -> Calais/Eurotunnel/Folkestone -> London

All in all it came to around 2200 miles, which is by far the most driving I've done in this car in a 2 week period. Prior to this trip I had only put a total of 500 miles on the clock since purchase at the start of the year. What can I say? I loved it!

I would find it hard to find a reason to take any other car if I were to do the same trip again. A 3L 6 cylinder rag top has to be just about the perfect car to take on a road trip like this. We didn't get a drop of rain until (literally) the final few miles to Calais at the end, so roof down cruising was a daily enjoyment and the engine was singing. A major highlight was the driving in Switzlerland, the mountain passes are truly breathtaking and the quality of swiss roads is superb. That said, most of the driving on the continent was enjoyable. I think we sat in about 15 minutes of traffic in 2200 miles - and road quality outside of Italy was excellent.

A few snaps, all from Switzerland :D :

Fantastic! Wish I could convince my girlfriend to do something like this, she has no interest whatsoever. Maybe I'll just have to leave her behind. :D

Done that area about 4 times now love it. Did you stop for a visit in Grindelwald and also did you drive around Lake Brianze as that is a stunning location just outside of Grindelwald
Great trip and photos. We go again Saturday for 16 days, we are visiting the Mosselle Valley and Black Forest before heading to Austria then coming back via Italian and Swiss Alps
