Eurotour 2015 --- 27/04/2015-03/05/2015

So we have a contact for the Nordschleife (Nürbürgring) for a track day and possibly photoshoot.
Probably somewhere in May :-)

Could probably be easily persuaded by this - will confirm once we return from Monza on this years Euro trip.

I've always fancied a Euro trip with some other Zeds ! Hopefully some more of the Scottish crew will climb aboard too ! :driving:

may 2015 you say? castles you say? race tracks you say?

best start saving my money, I'd like to come if you'll accept me :)

Sounds great, anytime in May is great for me. What ballpark figure do you think we will need? I am guessing £1000 - £1500 including fuel?

Sounds a fair ball-park, though lower is better

A (ex-) police escort sounds ace too :driving:

So I'm working on some possible road trips per day to define the whole route.
I'm taking into account the following points:
- no highways unless absolutely necessary (to win time)
- no toll roads (to keep it cheaper)
- a maximum of 300 kilometers a day (considering it's mainly small roads)
- pitstops every 75 kilometers (and at more or less 150 kilometers a lunch location) and where possible at a nice location (castle, track, lake...)
- bigger cities or touristic places as daily endpoint to ensure enough hotels are availble
What do you guys think of these conditions? Any other conditions to consider?

As for the point of departure, I was thinking Calais or Dunkerque thinking you guys would go through Dover. But does that make any sense? I mean, would it make more sense to choose another point for you to cross the channel?

Oh and start would be on a sunday and end on a saturday so that everyone still has a day left in both weekends.
I'm thinking about 6 trips with a day to rest after the 3rd trip. Restplace would be at the Rhein river (Germany).

Good work bad this is no easy feet so thank you. It will be me only Mrs Monkey won't be coming  but I bloody will be. I will be packing light and bring tools just in case as well as a spare tyre and wheel....... Someone is bound to need!!

Very keen on keeping it cheap. I would be happy to get involved in any track days. But I will have to keep costs down.

I would say Dover is easy for most of us. Are there going to other zed forums coming? I think we should all sticker up with a slogan? Same slogan in the language of you home country? Or a z4 logo in the colours of you country's flag??

A united z4 push across Europe :)

Not too sure yet on the track days, it may take us too long. It's already pretty hard to cover some distance in small roads only.
Furthermore not everyone seems to be keen on a track day.
I'm thinking a trackday trip should be done separately

As for the slogan or so, I was thinking to make a rally sticker to put on all cars.
This may not be a Z-series only trip as I have some friends who are very interested as well, but they have other type roadsters or coupes.

something like this (but without a specific car brand):

Looks good....along those lines seems good. A good door sticker for each car....

I was thinking a windscreen sticker as some people may be concerned these stickers may damage the paint.
At the bottom of the windscreen, in the middle for excample (so it doesn't matter if your steering wheel is on the left or the right ;) )

1.850 km - 6 trips - 7 days ...

I would say it might be a better option to offer two start points and a meet up point, as some people would sail/shuttle to Calais (as I would) and some could sail direct to Dunkirk...
