European Breakdown Cover

Hi all,

I have been trying to sort out European breakdown cover for my 2.5 week trip at the end of August. I have found that places such as AA and RAC are quoting ridiculous amounts (over £150) and other places such as Green Flag and eurobreakdown only allow the car to be <16 years old.

Has anyone successfully got reasonably priced european breakdown cover recently for a car older than 16 years? If so, where from?

We have had cover with Britannia Rescue, since I bought the ///MR back in 2011. Never needed it abroad, but it's always been there in case. Not sure what we pay. The manager takes care of that side. Worth a look.

I do the driving. :D :driving:

I have UK cover with this company. I don't think that they restrict by car age https://www.startrescue.co.uk/breakdown-cover/quick-quote#go

Best i could get for 17year old car for 7 days in Republic of Ireland was AA @ £97 i am an existing customer

They wouldn't cover me my car is 17 years old

Nationwide flex plus bank account.

I pay £12 a month or thereabouts.

European Breakdown cover with AA
Household Mobile Phone insurance - 4 phones insured
Worldwide travel insurance including America and winter sports which are normally additional

there is a fourth benefit for the £12 a month but it's crap IMO. you get an additional years warranty on electrical stuff you buy for your home. such as tv's, fridge, etc.

make sure you do a Joint bank account then both you and your partner both get all of the benefits of the above.

So it's cover for 2 people in terms of travel insurance and car breakdown.
