Just thought I would share some pictures of a trip I have just returned from in the Z. 11 nights in total including the drive to and from Nice, where we stayed for 5 nights and went to the Monaco Grand Prix from there.

On the drive down to Nice we went via Black Forest + an Autobahn in Germany, Alps in Switzerland then Italy. Drove via Monaco on way to Nice on the Friday and drove round some of the track that was open.

On way back we stayed in Dijon but drove there via some passes in the French Alps. Then did last 2 nights in Bruges.

2,100 odd miles in total and absolutely loved it!

That looked awesome. Cheers for posting the pics. Did the car behave?

Yes, car was perfect! I tempted fate and bought £50 worth of euro breakdown cover but didn't need it.

This was more or less the route I did - Link
I would do different roads over the Swiss Alps but a lot of them don't open until mid June. We went 22nd May I think so had to take the lower passes which were open. It also rained heavily when we did those so all the pics are of the French Alps.

I haven't really totalled it up / don't want to! But probably £3 - £3.5k, which for 11 nights I don't think is too bad. Must be around £400 on fuel alone.

It's great to see write ups like this on the forum. Fantastic pics, pleased you enjoyed it.

Like many others, would love to do something similar one day :driving:

I was offered the opportunity of doing something like this & would have been this month as it happens, an ex-colleague of mine asked me to go as part of a group & the only stipulation was that the car had to be a convertible, I know there was a Boxter, a couple of MG's and another Z4 going.

Reluctantly I had to decline because we have a teenager that is a bit too young to leave behind for a week.

Looks like an amazing trip & I'm completely envious :)

Haha, well she did find an apartment in the centre of Nice with a pool on the roof and insisted upon it!

Autobahns were good, but a little busy, only managed around 135/140mph before a lorry would pull out.

Sadly I am probably selling the car shortly, I have been thinking about it for last few months now, it's a second car and I don't get to drive it as much as I used to or would like to due to a change of job. Costs a lot to run per mile when you don't do many miles! Bought in Jan/Feb last year on 64k I think I'm only on 69,600 after 2,000 miles in Europe. So if anyone is interested in a Titanium Silver Z4 M Coupe with Black leather, carbon dash, Sat Nav, Cruise Control, Bluetooth and heated seats then PM me! I will post a for sale thread soon, once I have cleaned and taken some interior photos as I don't really have any.
