I am very much hopping to do the same as i did this year :D

As long as i get invited back. Every trip needs a hooligan to do burnouts and doughnuts!!

Your name's already down Mat , Halloween weekend only this time return date will be 31st so no need to pay VED for Nov if you are a SORNer :poke:

Its in the diary then. I really cant wait had a blast lats time. Nope the car is my only transport so on the road all year.

I think it would be great if somebody organised a Round Britain "Relay" Zed Trip, allowing all members to join on for a leg or two as it passed through their area.

"Lands End to John O'Groats" and back type thing.
- It just needs an organiser. ....Now who do we know who lives in Cornwall and can start getting buzy on it ?

Ahh now I get the other post. Do enjoy a bit of route planning. I'll put some time in on this and get back.

this aint a bad idea, who ever starts it should take some mascot or someting and pass it on, take pictures of places throught the UK

I've been thinking the same. Even a charity fund raiser..

Get as many Zeds involved and every mile with the bear costs you 10p ( 50 miles - £5) The bear has to get its way around the country with as many photos on location as possible !!

Send it around the country anti/or clockwise and get it back to me in Bristol by the end of summer. Pictures and handover contact/arrangements on a dedicated thread ???

It needs a a bit of thought but if enough people are up for a laugh and support it I'll have a think about how to make it work !!!

lol i did think about him, i also thought charity but who can organise it?

Just set up a "Just Giving " page for a worthy cause and everyone donate to it as they go for a voluntary 10p per mile. That will encourage people to pass him on quicker and meet more members close to them at a pre-arranged RVP.

i.e. I'll take to to Weston and give to 2Dogs, he can take to to Somerset to Dave the Wheel Nut who can then take it to Buzy in Cornwall, etc Post your photo, with your mileage, who you passed it to and make your donation !!

As I tell my kids... "Where there's a will there's a way" !

but to get from top to bottom of the uk some people may have to drive longer distances

It will just have to go where it goes, then we'll recall it at some point and get it home !

Has the idea got legs do you think ?

I think its a decent idea , organising it may take some time & effort but no reason why it wouldn't work
Just don't ask me to take it to France :P

I nearly did take him to France, but I thought you'd all think I was weird !

I dont care where he goes but the success story will be getting him home after his travels and seeing all the photos !

Taz & I will put something together and post it out there !!

Going to Le Mans and Rally GB - standard. Last year I did North Coast 500 as well, which I highly recommend. This year, maybe Spa for the GP (although tempted to give up on F1 for a year).

Sounds like a great idea,I participated in something similar with SELOC & scottish elises but it wasn't for charity, just a bit of light hearted fun.......much prefer the charity involvement.......I'll look for the photos and TRY and post them :?
I'm in but the only drawback is that if I make a decent run out of it..i.e. the north of scotland, then the wife usually accompanies and it's a weekender..........would it be animal cruelty to put(sorry but you haven't told us his/her name :D )THE BEAR in the boot??
Would he/she in fact fit in E89 boot? and will I get arrested/sectioned taking selfies with a large stuffed animal if going solo??
Ah,WTF I'm definately in.....talked myself in for probably 500+miles :driving:

The bear's name is Zedward. And he's a very large Zeddy bear

He will just fit in an E85 boot (just) but he charges more pence per mile - all in the aid of charity, so its probably cheaper to pop the wife in there instead..

I drove from Bristol to Yorkshire with him last summer (roof down) and its so amusing watching people double-take as you overtake them and to see all the kids faces. A bit embarrassing stopped at traffic lights in the High Street though, next to a bunch of teenagers !!

Taz will start a new thread tomorrow.

Shame you can't crate him up and send him down this way - he could make some Kiwi friends  .
Sounds like a great idea guys - good luck with it.
Edit: I'll just have to stick with Warrant Officer Bear - who my kids have added their school badges to badges/pins I had already attached.
